Pet Suffocation Safety Tips for Holidays

December 20, 2025

HOLIDAY SAFETY REMINDER! Are you prepared to keep your pets safe this holiday season? ⁣

⁣You know to keep things like chocolate, mistletoe, poinsettias, holly, ornaments, and tinsel away from your pets but don’t forget about the sparkly and decorative plastic bags your holiday goodies come in!⁣

🍪 So, while you’re baking your holiday treats and wrapping presents, be sure to transfer all food bags, food treats, and pet treats to glass containers to keep your pets safe and sound!⁣ Then, cut up all of your bags and dispose of them properly.⁣

Most of us will find our pets underfoot in the kitchen and near any areas with food, so be sure to serve those dishes in glass containers and always keep your pantry doors closed.⁣

⁣⁣Here’s what else you can do…⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣🎄Serve snacks in a bowl⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣🎄Store food and snacks in containers⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣🎄 Destroy and cut up all food bags⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣🎄 Secure kitchen trash cans ⁣⁣⁣⁣

🎄 Make sure friends and family are aware of pet suffocation risks

⁣⁣⁣⁣It just takes seconds for your cat or dog to get access to your kitchen counter or table, so make sure you’re prepared.⁣⁣ 🐶🐱⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣We have lost too many pets during the holidays, so please share to help us raise awareness to prevent pet suffocation. Looking for more tips? Head over to our website to learn more! 👉🏼
