Collar Safety for Pets!

Dog Collar Safety is something a lot of people are unaware of. Almost 30,000 dogs die annually from some type of collar strangulation incident. It just takes a minute for a dog to get into dangerous trouble from a collar incident. Ryder Safe Foundation provides education and awareness on pet collar safety. The Founder, Lynette Smith, created the organization after losing her 4 year old Labrador, Ryder (in the photo), who died from dog collar strangulation while playing with their other pup, Skyrah, who luckily survived with terrible jaw injuries. It was a devastating event for the family.

Not only can collars become entangled when two dogs are playing, but they can also get caught on:

✅ Heater grates

✅ Furniture

✅ Fences

✅ Door knobs

✅ Entanglement during play

✅ Crates and kennels

Visit their website at www.rydersafefoundation.com to get educated about the dangers of dog collars, how to use them safely, and learn about other “safer” collar options. Another excellent website is www.nakeddogproject.com. Like pet suffocation from food bags and containers, collar strangulation can be prevented!

Prevent Pet Suffocation is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible.
